Fairy Ring Max Assurance Program
A preventative program to protect golf course putting greens and fairways from fairy ring. Assured.
When it comes to golf course playing surfaces, we know you expect greatness. For years, Intrinsic® brand fungicides have set the gold standard in disease control and plant health. And when challenges like fairy ring arise, the foundation for resilient, healthy turf starts below the surface.
Fairy ring fungi are unique and do not directly infect and parasitize turf. Instead they impact soil structure, water movement, root function, and ultimately turf vigor. Rather than chasing rings, we created a layered, comprehensive spray program to prevent fairy ring symptoms before they start.
The BASF Fairy Ring Max Assurance Program combines Intrinsic brand fungicides with Maxtima® fungicide and Xzemplar® fungicide to knock-down fungal populations, protect root health and turf vigor, and reduce symptom severity and recurrence over time.
Fairy Ring Max Assurance Program details
- Select from qualifying fungicides on page two and follow the prescribed regional program based on preventive timing, approved rates and application details.
- BASF assures at least 90% control of fairy ring in the treated areas from the first preventive application until 28 days following the final application.
- If control failure occurs, BASF will supply product (at no cost) for one recovery application to affected areas.
- This assurance is limited to one recovery application, up to the total acres initially treated.
- Control failure and clean-up product selection is determined at the sole discretion of a BASF representative. All claims must be reported within 28 days following last application.
Application details
- Begin applications when soil temperatures are consistently above 55°F and turf is actively growing.
- All applications must be watered in immediately with at least 0.25” of irrigation.
- Applications must be made in conjunction with a soilsurfactant on a 14 to 28-day interval as recommended by the product manufacturer.
- Make sequential applications on a 28-day interval in the recommended sequence below.
- Control is guaranteed for 28 days after last application assuming the following criteria are met: (1) use of a qualifying BASF fungicide, (2) fungicide used as a preventive application, and (3) application was watered-in.

Recommended fungicide sequence is intended as a guide and may be adjusted based on spray history and local conditions, provided all selections are made from the list of qualifying products.

Program Process
- BASF sales Representative will discuss program eligibility with customers.
- Claims must be filed within thirty (30) days of
seeing fairy ring breakthrough to your local BASF sales representative.
- BASF Representative to visit golf course and check all required documentation of treatments, rates, watering, etc.
- BASF Representative to make judgement in its sole discretion of whether control of fairy ring is less than 90% of the total treated acres. All judgement by the BASF Representative will be final.
- If applicable, BASF will determine the curative product to be used.
- If applicable, golf course will receive product for curative application between five (5) and ten (10) business days after visit by BASF Representative.

Qualifications
Follow regional spray program contained in this document based on timing, rates, approved products, and application details. Follow watering instructions and other specific measures to ensure penetration of the fungicide into the fairy ring zone in the soil. Claims must be filed within twenty-eight (28) days of seeing fairy ring breakthrough to your local BASF Sales Representative. All spray records showing rates, date of application, watering amounts, etc. will be required upon visit to your course by BASF rep. No claims will be processed without full spray records. All products must have been purchased within 24 months of the treatments for Fairy Ring from an authorized BASF Agent. The T&O Golf Fairy Ring Max Assurance Program does NOT apply to purchases from other sub distributors and dealers and/or resellers.
